Trendy Bridal Makeup for Night Weddings
More and more people are foregoing traditional weddings and opting for something different. Night weddings have become popular among couples of all ages. They offer different benefits from daytime weddings and act as a great backdrop for Starry Night, Sci-Fi, Luau, Vampire, Zombie and Costume themed weddings.
Smoky Night Eyes Bridal Makeup
A benefit of having a night wedding is that you can be more dramatic and creative with your makeup, especially eye makeup. The most popular bridal makeup for eyes is the smoky eye look. While the classic heavy black smoky eye is still ok to wear, the trend now seems to have shifted to a colorful smoky eye. You can use any shade of eyeshadow to create a smoky eye. The look itself generally consists of 3-4 eyeshadow colors that give the illusion of depth and mystery to the eye. Fake eyelashes and black or colored eyeliner are applied to complete the look.
For dark smoky eyes use a light pink or soft peach blush on the apples of your cheeks and highlight your cheekbones with a shimmery powder. Nude or sheer creamy pink lipstick will naturally enhance your lips while keeping the focus on your eyes.
For a more “vampy” look go for a rich metallic plum, burgundy or black cherry red shade and line with matching lip liner. Powder your lips to set the lipstick and top it off with a good lip balm.
Arabian Nights Bridal Makeup
Exotic and mysterious, this theme revolves around rich, jewel tones and plush velvets. Shades of sapphire, emerald, onyx or plum combined with neutrals will give your eyes a youthful sultry look. Apply a shimmery nude, light gold or white all over your eyelid, and then use a dark jewel shade for the crease. Next, apply black eyeliner on top eyelid and go over it with the shade you used for the crease. The black will darken the shadow just slightly and the shadow will help set your eyeliner for longer wear.
Skip the blush and apply sheer jewel toned lipstick. Use a lipliner to define and smooth your lip line. Apply a spot of gloss in the center of your lower lip.
Luau Night Bridal Makeup
This bronzed, alluring eyes look will make you feel like you’re on a beautiful tropical island. Start with a cream or liquid bronzer and mix it into your foundation. Apply this mix to all areas of your body that will be exposed to make the skin look dewy and naturally radiant. Use a highlighter on the sides of your forehead, cheeks, bridge of your nose and the tip of your chin. This will give your face a lift and contouring.
Choose a lip color in bronze, apricot, caramel, toffee or copper in a light or sheer shade. For your eyes, go with shimmery gold, brown, copper or bronze shadows for an exotic island look. Use dark brown or black liquid eyeliner with curled eyelashes to complete the illusion.
