Our instructors are industry professions with years of experience. Each instructor specializes in specific areas of the makeup field. Below are brief biographies and backgrounds of the EI instructors.
 
Rick Bongiovanni
Rick
Rick was born in San Jose, California. He served in the U.S. Army, and after his service as a combat engineer, he left the military with the rank of sergeant. He then attended college where he received a degree in criminal justice. Rick served as both a sheriff's deputy and a park ranger in Santa Clara County as well as a police officer for the State of California. He then went on to study makeup artistry, and has worked as a makeup artist, department head, key makeup artist as well as an assistant makeup artist. He works on large and low budget feature films including End of Days, Bicentennial Man and Idle Hands; and television productions including X-Files and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Rick shares his experience and knowledge as an instructor and has been instructing privately for several years. Rick also served as the head of prosthetics for the Joe Blasco Make-up Centers, and taught at the Empire School of Makeup, all before becoming an instructor at EI. Rick is also an accomplished magician and is a performing member at the “World Famous“ Magic Castle.
 
Jennifer Corona
Jennifer
Jennifer Corona has worked as a professional makeup artist in high fashion photographic, print media, music videos, live performance, television, film and special effects. Her work has appeared in numerous magazines, including Lowrider, Tattoo Life & Tattoo Energy (U.K.), Lucky 13 Apparel, Barracuda, Big Wheel, and Vibes (Japan). Her work in music videos includes, Falling Leaves, Follow the Cops, Land of III Earthquakes, Maria Fatal Music Video, and Velvet Revolver's She Builds Quick Machines. In addition, Jennifer has also created makeup designs for weddings, special occasions, the Queen Mary's Haunted Shipwreck, and for Universal Studios Face Painting Program. She is also well known for her work on online sites, including, Hot Topic.com, Torrid.com, Juliland.com, Poison Candy Fashions and After Dark Jewelry, to name only a few. Jennifer now works at EI teaching makeup in the High Fashion Photographic, Theatrical / Live Performance, Television and Tech Lab courses.
 
Christine George
Christine
Christine George first started her career assisting celebrity makeup artist Eugenia Weston while attending Newberry School of Cosmetology in 2000. While her craft was evolving in the beauty industry she was soon offered her first Music Video. From then on Christine has worked extensively in the Music Video world beautifying many favorite celebrities, including Mariah Carey, Sting, Enrique Iglesias, and Prince, to name a few. She also works in the commercial industry, and recently worked with Kelly Clarkson. Christine has also worked for LATHER Beauty Lounge, one of Los Angelesês hippest premier salons, and in 2004 Christine embarked on a cross country tour as Key Tour Stylist and Makeup Artist for one of FOXês popular reality makeover series, teaching the public how to apply makeup. Christine currently runs and operates her own beauty studio, in Los Angeles while continuing her work in the beauty and music video industries, and is now an instructor at EI, training the next generation of makeup artists.
 
Kasey Goveia
Kasey
Kasey began her career in makeup over 15 years ago, working as a freelance artist for cosmetic companies that included Lancôme, Chanel and Prescriptives; she also held management positions for Bobbi Brown, Perscriptives, and MAC.  Kasey has had a lucrative makeup career in television, film, print media and music videos as well.  Some of her clients include Mandy Moore, Yamaha, Sony Music, Nickelodeon, Las Vegas magazine, Budweiser, George Lopez, Persia White, New Yorker Magazine, Capitol Records, IBM, Kia Cars and Telemundo.  Kasey is also a successful jazz vocalist and teaches a live performance makeup course at EI for vocal students from MI (Musicians Institute).
 
Autumn Hand
Autumn
An experienced makeup artist, licensed cosmetologist, and wig maker, Autumn first trained as a makeup artist at the Joe Blasco Center. For years she has worked continuously as a makeup artist, key makeup and hair artist, head of wig departments, a SPFX makeup artist, and has worked in sculpture, mold and fabrication departments in film, television, and music video productions. Autumn specializes in beauty, glamour, high fashion, fantasy and old age, including SFX makeup and hair appliances. She also serves as the Department Head at Universal Studios for Wigs and Lab Techs for the Halloween Horror Nights.
 
Dustin Heald
Dustin
After completing a degree in the Business of Makeup at the Douglas Education Center, in Pennsylvania, where he studied with Tom Savini, and after receiving numerous awards for his work in special effects makeup, Dustin headed to Los Angeles. He worked for Stan Winston Studios on a variety of films, including Indiana Jones 4 and Avitar. He has also worked for Motion Picture F/X, and works extensively in commercials, film, and episodic television. He is now an instructor at EI teaching in the television, film and special effects disciplines. Dustin is also a member of Who's Who for his achievement in makeup, and holds a Douglas Award for his service to civic organizations and programs.
 
Cecilia Hernandez
Cecilia
Born and raised in Palm Springs, California, Ms. Hernandez graduated from EI in 2005, specializing in special effects makeup. CeCe worked extensively at United Television Broadcasting in the news department, and on productions for their commercial division. She has worked for USC Opera Company productions for the music department and on music videos for Musicians Institute. Special effects remains her passion and she serves as the lab technician for the SFX program at EI, as the lab assistant for Tech Lab, and as an instructor for Theatre and Tech Lab.
 
Rochelle Kneisley
Rochelle
Rochelle is a veteran of Ventura College's theatre department, where she began her career in stage makeup. After numerous productions, she moved on to community-theater productions in Ojai, CA specifically the Shakespeare Festivals. She pursued film and television makeup at the Learning Tree University then went on to work on many films which included work with important actors such as Jeff Daniels. Rochelle also works with Maital Sabban, the famous makeup artist, working on music videos featuring artists like Kidd Rock and Eminem. Rochelle is an experienced special effects makeup artist, and her work has included the creation of many prosthetics wounds, amputations, eyes, aliens, etc. She recently completed work on a new Bruce Campbell film My Name is Bruce.
 
Rich  Knight
Rich
Rich Knight a California native from San Jose, Rich is a special effects makeup artist, who is also a prop and puppet maker.  His film work includes character development in the areas of aging, horror, injury simulation, gore, and fantasy, hair work, working effects, bleeding effects, oozing effects, and melting effects.   He is a 1993 graduate of the Institute of Studio Makeup.  His numerous production credits include: 100 Million BC, Beowulf,' X-Men 3, The Omen 666, Poseidon, Seraphim Falls, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Alias, House, M.D., Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, and X-Files.  In addition to teaching at EI, Rich has lectured on character makeup for theatre and film at the South Coast Repertory Theatre, served as an instructor at the Cinema Makeup School in SPFX & Prosthetics, and teaches Intro to Makeup for Film and Video at the San Diego Media Arts Center.
 
Dennis Ramirez
Dennis
Born and raised in Santa Rosa, California, Dennis began work as a makeup artist at Santa Rosa College in the Theatre Department before moving to Los Angeles to pursue his career in professional makeup. He has since worked in special effects makeup on numerous television shows, CSI: Vegas, Cold Case Files, and CSI: Miami to name a few, along with work in film, including The Night Stalker and Poseidon. He has also worked in theatrical productions, including Wicked and Kandor. In addition to his teaching duties at EI, Dennis continues his work in SFX at 1313 FX and for productions throughout LA.
 
Dan Russo
Dan
Dan began working as a professional makeup artist at the Don Post Studios, where he worked on the R & D Team. There he designed, sculpted and painted the new line of Halloween products; he also became the head painter at Don Post Studios. During his years at Don Post Studios, Dan had the pleasure of working alongside some of the most talented effects artists in the business. His first movie was Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers, where he painted the mask for the movie. His next project placed him under the great airbrush painter Gino Acevedo and he worked on the movie Godzilla under the Tattopolous Production Company, where Dan also advanced his airbrushing skills. Dan has also worked as a freelance artist and painter on numerous projects. In 2005 he supervised the makeup and effects for the Asylum Production Company where he designed, created and applied all the effects for Frankenstein Reborn, The Beast of Bray Road and Dead Man Walking. Dan brings all of his work in special effects, on-set makeup applications and all his freelance experience into the classroom for both the Artistry of Makeup and SFX programs at EI.
 
Trudi Schoolhouse
Trudi
Trudi Schoolhouse began her professional career for Max Factor and has worked for over 20 years as a professional makeup artist and model. She has taught theater makeup at USC and LACC, and has held training sessions at UCLA. Trudi also conducts makeup seminars in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. She has worked in the film and television industries for more than 20 years, and has been the makeup artist for numerous films, television, and theatrical productions in the U.S. and abroad. Trudi has been teaching at EI for over sixteen years, participating in seminars and mentoring. She also provides her makeup expertise for modeling agencies, IMTA and AMTA (American Models & Talent Association).
 
Arlene Silver
Arlene
Arlene's initial training in the film industry began in film and television production, and she earned a B.A. in Communications from California State University at Fullerton. For two years, she worked in production before discovering makeup artistry as her career. Needing more specialized training, she enrolled at Studio Makeup Academy in Los Angeles and studied Beauty and Special Effects makeup. Arlene has worked as a freelance makeup artist for the past six years on a variety of projects ranging from television commercials to high fashion runway shows. Her client list includes: The Style Channel, Fox, The SAG Awards and Coca-Cola. Her outstanding makeup applications for print work have been seen in Vanity Fair, Womenês Wear Daily, GQ, Entertainment Weekly and Violet Magazines. In addition to her experience as a makeup artist, Arlene is also a licensed esthetician. Her experience also includes teaching, and she has joined the EI team teaching High Fashion Photographic and Runway Makeup.
 
George Troester
George
A graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a science degree in industrial design, George specializes in sculpting, mold-making, painting, animatronics, puppetry, prop casting, life-casting, suit fabrication, dental prosthetics and false eyes. George is not only well versed in lab work, but does on-set applications of his prosthetic pieces. His most recent film work includes The Adventures of Umbweki (gorilla suit fabrication and special effects puppeteer), Fear House, Destruction Kings, and The Prince, the Pimp, the Jackel and the Spayed. George has joined the EI SFX Department, and will be enhancing all aspects of the SFX course offerings.
 
Tony Valdes
Tony
Tony Valdés graduated from the University of Puerto Rico where he earned a bachelors in theater. He moved to New York City and studied makeup at the Bob Kelly Studio. He then worked for fourteen years as a makeup artist for numerous theatrical productions, and for a variety of television shows, including work at the Telemundo Network. In 1999 he moved to Los Angeles and worked for CNN Entertainment Spanish Edition, for fashion shoots for Sears, Co., and served as a makeup artist and hairdresser for numerous awards shows including the Oscars and the Grammy's. Mr. Valdés has provided his expertise in numerous films, including a many independent and short films, including If Tomorrow Comes, Viva, The Incubus, Glass Tops, and The Hypnotist. In addition to his teaching and administrative duties at EI, Tony works as the senior makeup artist for Wayne Foster Entertainment.
 
Marnie Wilson
Marnie
Marnie Wilson, a licensed cosmetologist, is also a professional makeup artist, having studied at Cinema Secrets and Vidal Sasson. Marnie has worked extensively as a key makeup artist and hair stylist for Universal Studios and with the Cimarron Group, and has worked for numerous photographic studios, including work with Kevin Hecht, Nadine Belford, and Evan MacKenzie. She has also worked with film and television stars, such as Nick Cannon and John Cryer. In addition to her years as a film and photographic makeup artist, Marnie has served as a beauty advisor and manager for Lancome and Prescriptives.
